Nigerians in the Americas congratulate Biden, Harris; Pledge collaboration

Nigerians in the Americas under the umbrella of Nigerians In Diaspora Organization Americas (NIDOA and NIDOA-USA) have congratulated US President-elect, Mr. Joseph R. Biden Jr. and Vice President-elect, Senator Kamala Harris on their victory at the polls and pledged to partner with incoming administration.
In their statement congratulating the duo, the group said “Nigerian Diaspora in the USA have been remarkable contributors to the fabrics of American successes and breakthroughs in the last decades” and expressed hope that under the Biden presidency “relations between Nigeria and the United States of America will continue to grow from strength to strength.”
Signed by Chief (Engr.) Obed Monago, Chairman, NIDOA-BOT, Hon. Isaac Inyang, Chairman, NIDOA-USA, Hon. Zee Nagberi, NIDOA PRD and Dr. Barth Sheptong, NIDOA-USA, the statement said further that as a people who value and respect democratic principles, Nigerian-Americans played a decisive part through their solid votes in bringing about the Biden/Harris victory.
“Just recently, Nigeria Diaspora further played a significant role in the victories of Jon Ossoff and Raphael Warnock in the State of Georgia’s run-off election of which both won,” the statement stressed, noting that Ossoff acknowledged the crucial part played by Africans, especially Nigerian Diaspora in their victory.
The Nigerians in the Americas pointed out that the world is looking forward to the global leadership of the US under the Biden/Harris administration, especially at this time of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The group insisted that they are extending hands of sincere friendship and partnership to the Biden/ Harris administration, not only in restoring normalcy in the US by building “back better” but also in the renewed collaboration with the Nigerian-American community.
“We assure you of our readiness to lend our expertise and service wherever they may be needed,” the body pledged, expressing the hope that the Biden/Harris administration “will work with Nigeria and other African countries to consolidate the dividends of democracy and grow Africa’s economy.”
